Creative sessions.
A venue for creativity ...
sanctuary
The studio is a sanctuary, what is said in the studio stays in the studio. It is an open environment for creativity, discussion and the production of thought based imagery.
I offer a venue for your creativity. That venue is photography. It's not a workshop to hone your technical skills, it is an environment where you can explore your creativity as it relates to both art and addiction.
Quite honestly, in my opinion, addiction is a form of art. Destructive, corrupt and disturbing, but art non the less.
We build an open forum to try and understand how your creativity effects you. We develop one of the primary building blocks to recovery. We try and pull the creative energy away from your addiction and channel it into something that is positive. In the end giving a sense of enjoyment, accomplishment and the satisfaction of achieving a physical product in the creation of the final print.
All you need is a phone ...
primary session
The principal thought is very simple. Over the course of 3 sessions each 2 hours long we discuss the evolution your recovery through visual interpretation . You will be asked to document through photography you're changing attitudes towards your addiction. Your images will be discussed with the group to provide insights to both yourself and others as well as being discussed individually with a trained psychiatrist.
For this introduction phase all that is required is a cell phone with photo capabilities.
Excelled sessions
There are also excelled sessions involving guest speakers lecturing on a variety of topics including relaxation, nutrition, finance, personal health and mindfulness.
These sessions are 4.5 hours long combining the lecture with photography, food and a group discussion.
